Behavior Expectations
We believe the following about our students:
- Every child has the right to learn.
- Every child has the responsibility to show safe and respectful behavior to adults and other students in the building.
School-wide Expectations
- Respect yourself and others.
- Follow directions given by school personnel.
- Walk; save your running for the playground.
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
- Use quiet voices inside the building.
We have the following safety rules for all students:
- Students are to be Zone 1 (no talking) in hallways at all times.
- Students are to walk in the “third tile” in the hallways (to help encourage hands away from the walls).
- Students are to use the front stairwell when walking throughout the building. Students may use the back stairwell if they are accompanied by an adult.
Uniform Policy
Shirts - Any solid color shirt with or without a collar. No form of print or design should be on the outside of clothing. Undergarments including “Under Armor” are prohibited as outer wear. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. **Small logos in the pocket corner of shirts are acceptable.
Pants, Shorts, Skirts, Skorts, and Jumpers - Solid khaki, black, or navy school uniform pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers. No cargo style, denim or spandex. Pants and/or other applicable items must fit at the waist. No oversized clothing, denim jeans or jean style pants. Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers shall be no shorter than fingertip length. Bermuda shorts (shorts that come to the knee) are acceptable. Uniform dresses are also acceptable.
Jeans-Jeans Day is each Friday. A Live Oak spirit shirt or uniform shirt should be worn on Fridays with jeans.
Shoes - Clean white, black, or brown athletic shoes with non-marking soles are preferred. Other black or brown closed-toe or open toe shoes are permitted. Combat boots, “Uggs”, work boots, above the calf boots or boots with greater than one inch heel are not allowed. Steel-toe shoes, sandals, open-toed shoes, open-backed shoes or flip-flop sandals are not allowed. “Heelies” and skate shoes are prohibited.
Belts - Black or brown. A belt must be worn if pants, shorts, or skorts have belt loops.
Sweaters - Any solid color is acceptable.
Sweatshirts - Any solid color is acceptable.
Headwear - No headwear (such as headscarves, hats, bandanas, or head wraps) is allowed at school except for religious or medical reasons, with approval from the school administration.
Picture Days-Students will have “Free Dress Day” on Fall Picture Day and on Spring Picture Day.
Free Dress Days-Students will have an opportunity for “Free Dress Day” during established times throughout the school year.
